Water Spring

Designed in collaboration with Bafeo, our reliefs merge visual character with practical purpose, offering sound absorption alongside their sculptural appeal.

Each LUDISM piece draws from legends, myths and folk tales.

Springs—especially those hidden in the woods—were known for their purity and seen as places of healing or contact with rusałki, young water nymph spirits believed to bring fertility.

Made and designed in Poland by Ola Niepsuj, Karol Pasternak and Piotr Maciaszek.

Legend Behind
In Polish folk tales, a źródło (spring) was often seen as a place of healing and purity, but also mystery. It was never just water. People said it had a soul, hidden behind rusałki—water spirits of young women who dwelled nearby. The water was used for health and beauty, especially if collected at dawn, but there was always caution: forgetting or disrespecting a lonely spring could anger the spirit that lived there.
